Seychelles Coast Guard Patrol Ship Andromache was deployed to intercept the suspected vessel, which was successfully boarded by Special Operations Boarding team. Initial search revealed several packages, consistent with those used in drug transportation, in the hold. The vessel and her 06 crew members are currently being detained and will be handed over to local authorities for further investigations.
The Seychelles Defence Forces reaffirms the continued dedication and professionalism of its service members to deter such activities and safeguard Seychelles’ maritime space. We remain steadfast in developing and nurturing capable talent in the next generation, so as to ensure that the force can always fulfill its mandates.
