The Seychelles Defence Forces community came together this morning for a special religious service presided by SDF Force Chaplain Lieutenant Colonel (Retd) Louis Agathine, setting a reflective and unifying tone ahead of Defence Forces Week 2025.
Held at the Military Training and Support Centre Perseverance, the service featured the harmonious voices of the St. Louis Choir accompanied by the National Brass Band, whose solemn hymns brought an uplifting and reverent atmosphere to the ceremony.
In his homily, the Chaplain highlighted the values of discipline and resilience, and the importance of spreading love and unity within the armed forces.
Prayers were offered for all service personnel especially those currently deployed on their respective missions.
The service concluded with blessing followed by a symbolic cake-cutting, marking the official begining of the week’s activities.
Defence Forces Week continues with a series of events including community outreach programs, formal recognition ceremony honouring the dedication of men and women in uniform, inter-unit competitions and it will culminate with a Family Day at Grand Anse Mahe playing field on Saturday 29 November.
Stay connected as we celebrate service, commitment and unity ![]()
